Central And Western New York Leaders Support Dinallo, Raising Total Number Of Endorsements To Twenty-Six

Democratic County Chairs Applaud Dinallo’s Overwhelming Victory at Straw Poll
Attorney General candidate Eric Dinallo today received endorsements from five additional Democratic Committee County Chairs, raising his total number of County Chair endorsements to 26 and building on a network of supporters from across the state. The endorsements follow Dinallo’s success at the Democratic Rural Conference, where he won the straw poll by a margin of more than 2-to-1 over the second place candidate.
Cattaraugus County Democratic Committee Chairwoman Joyce Melfi, Columbia County Democratic Committee Chairman Chris Nolan, Madison County Democratic Committee Chairwoman Marianne Simberg, Oneida County Democratic Committee Chairman Bill Barry, and Wayne County Democratic Committee Chairwoman Gaye Chapman applauded Dinallo for his record of accomplishment as a prosecutor and regulator, and for his innovative plan to expand legal services throughout New York.
“Eric is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get to work,” Chairwoman Melfi said. “He did it in the Attorney General’s Office when he found a way to prosecute wrongdoing on Wall Street and as Insurance Superintendent when he expanded health insurance to cover 400,000 children. Eric is my choice for Attorney General and I am confident that he will continue his extraordinary record of service as the people’s lawyer.”
“Eric’s convincing win at the straw poll last weekend was a tremendous victory for a first time candidate,” said Chairman Nolan. “He received nearly as many votes as all of the other candidates combined and demonstrated his ability to gather support across the entire state. His vast experience, creative use of state government, and plans for the office have led more than two dozen of my colleagues to support him and I am proud to do the same.”
“The state’s top legal office needs someone with the creativity to solve difficult problems and the strength to enforce solutions. Eric Dinallo has shown that he has both,” Chairwoman Simberg said. “He listened to the concerns my neighbors and I expressed and developed proposals, like the Rural Agenda, which will meet critical needs in communities throughout the state. Eric knows the Attorney General’s Office, and understands how to make it work for all New Yorkers.”
